The Mid-Year Reset Trend Brits Are Embracing in 2025

Whether it’s getting healthy before a holiday, or just having a glow up – 59 percent of modern Brits will be embarking on a mid-year reset – and June emerged as the month we’re most likely to make lifestyle changes.

According to the survey findings, just 16 percent of Brits have stuck to their 2025 New Year’s resolutions, so it’s no surprise that almost six in ten plan to have another go, half-way through the year.

In fact, 84 percent have NEVER stuck to a New Year’s resolution, with 36 percent blaming the fact that January is too grim.

In fact, one in three (35 percent) are planning to set an average of three mid-year resolutions on June 1st, according to the survey by Nicorette.

And with the national ban on disposable vapes taking effect in June 1 – giving up smoking (39 percent), or vaping (37 percent) topped the mid-year resolution list.

Getting into better shape (30 percent), feeling fitter (26 percent), eating clean (25 percent), quitting binge drinking (19 percent) and getting a new style (19 percent) also feature in the nation’s mid-year resolutions.

As did learning a language (14 percent), buying a new summer wardrobe (14 percent), spending less time on social media (13 percent) and walking 10,000 steps a day (13 percent).

Of the vapers surveyed, the research also found a concern about increasing nicotine consumption, with 39 percent citing that they now vape more than they used to smoke. This suggests a growing awareness of potential dependence and a desire to regain control over their nicotine intake.

Nicola Sunshine, Nicorette® Brand Director says ” The upcoming ban on disposable vapes, coupled with the natural reflection point of the mid-year mark, creates a powerful catalyst for change.

“We found that over half of vapers are already considering quitting, and with all our Nicorette® products now indicated to support vapers to quit, we’re here to provide the resources needed to help people tackle their cravings and enjoy freedom from smoking and vaping.”

When asked why mid-year resolutions are easier to stick to, 45 per cent of respondents agreed the longer daylight hours and 50 percent agreed the warmer weather helped.
