We all know getting enough sleep is crucial for maintaining optimal health, it plays a vital role in our everyday bodily functions including our cognitive health as well as our physical well-being.
When we sleep our bodies carry out vital repair work – I know, sounds very clinical but it’s true! Tissue repair, muscle growth and the strengthening of our immune systems all happen whilst we are cracking out the z’s – with so much going on it’s a wonder we get any sleep at all lol.
Not getting enough sleep is linked to an increased risk of chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and hypertension – and who wants any of that? The fact is that ensuring you get the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep per night can significantly improve your overall quality of life, productivity, and long-term health. Easier said than done right?

I have a complicated relationship with sleep – ever since I was young I have struggled in one way or another, from sleepwalking as a child to chronic anxiety as an adult leading to many nights of disrupted sleep. My husband of over twenty years would attest to my difficulties with sleep as with many couples – if one us of is tossing and turning, the other is likely to be disturbed – this has led to many cranky mornings and 3pm slumps at work. Not ideal!
I have never actually considered that the quality of my bed, pillows and most importantly my mattress could play a vital role in how I sleep and to be honest, it has never occurred to me to update the mattress we bought in 1996 (just kidding) but I bet it is 10 years! Whenever I am struggling to sleep these days I head off to the spare room to avoid waking my husband, I liken our mattress to a trampoline and every time I move the ripple effect across the bed drives us both mad! I think we have discussed the bouncy nature of our mattress at some point and vaguely mentioned we may need to invest in a new one, but then the bills land, a holiday gets booked and our budget doesn’t allow for a mattress this month – but what we really should have been doing, was prioritising our health!
After one too many sleepless nights and the return of my anxiety with vengeance, we finally took delivery of the Simba Hybrid® Original Mattress.

The Simba Hybrid® Original Mattress has revolutionised my sleep quality with its innovative design and cutting-edge technology. This mattress integrates the comfort of memory foam with the superior support of pocket springs, it’s a frikking revelation!
One standout benefit is its multi-zoned support system. The Simba Hybrid® features up to 2,500 conical pocket springs that individually adjust to the sleeper’s body shape and weight. This results in optimal spinal alignment and a significant reduction in pressure points, which is essential for alleviating back and joint pain.
Additionally, the mattress is great at temperature regulation. Its open-cell Simba-Pure foam layer promotes airflow, preventing overheating throughout the night. This technology ensures a consistently cool and comfortable sleep, even for those who tend to overheat myself included!
Motion isolation is the most notable benefit for me. The hybrid design effectively minimises motion transfer, meaning if one of us moving the other isn’t disturbed – this is better than marriage guidance counselling! lol
Durability and sustainability also set the Simba Hybrid® apart. Constructed from high-quality, environmentally friendly materials, the mattress is built to last, ensuring prolonged comfort and support without sagging – because you know I won’t be changing it for another ten years…lol.

In conclusion, the Simba Hybrid® Original Mattress offers unparalleled benefits in support, temperature regulation, motion isolation, and durability, making it an excellent investment for achieving a restful and rejuvenating sleep experience. The difference this mattress has made to my sleep is incredible and the knock-on effects from that have proved hugely beneficial. I had never ever related my mental health to my sleep, I assumed my struggles with sleep were because of my anxiety and never considered that actually my anxiety was caused (or at least contributed to) by my lack of sleep in the first place.
Investing in the right mattress is not just about comfort; it’s about committing to long-term health benefits, fostering better sleep hygiene, and improving life quality tremendously.
If you are considering buying a new mattress, then make your next call to Simba, tell them I sent you.
