Tips to Revamp Your Bedroom for Restful Nights

In the past week, sleep-related searches have skyrocketed, with terms like “why can’t I sleep” and “tips to sleep better” both increasing by more than 5,000% across the UK in the last 30 days.

It’s clear that as we kick off the new year, sleep has become a top priority for those embracing the New year wellness kick.

The bedroom is the foundation of your sleep environment, and making the right adjustments can significantly enhance the quality of your rest. Interior expert Alex Francis from Comodo Living reveals his top tips for transforming your bedroom into the ultimate sleep sanctuary.

Cut the Clutter: Excess items in your bedroom can cause stress and hinder your ability to unwind. Reducing clutter improves sleep quality by encouraging positive energy flow. Keep only what’s essential out and ensure everything has a designated place inside draws.

Wire Management: Just like decluttering, managing wires is key to a serene space. With so many electronic devices in our lives, wires, and gadgets can easily overwhelm bedsides and wall socket points. Prevent tangled messes by organising wires with cable ties, cable boxes and putting away any unused chargers.

Position Your Bed Right: A key tip for a restful sleep is placing your bed in the ‘command position’. This means you can see the whole room without being directly in line with the door. It gives you a sense of security, helping your mind to relax. The command position is good Feng shui practice and allows for positive energy in your space.

Colour Scheme: Choosing the right colours for your bedroom is essential for creating a calming environment. Soft, natural tones like beiges, coppers, and muted greens and blues have a soothing effect, making your room feel like a comforting “warm hug”. It’s also important to select colours that resonate with you personally, transforming your bedroom into a peaceful retreat that encourages deep relaxation.

Create a Sanctuary: Your bedroom should be a space where you can completely unwind after a busy day. Eliminate distractions, bright lights, loud noises, or digital devices, and focus on creating an atmosphere that nurtures deep, restful sleep.

With a few simple adjustments to your bedroom, you can boost your sleep quality and wake up feeling truly rejuvenated. Start the year right by prioritising your rest and creating a space that supports your overall wellness.
